Lucas-Rotax
In 1949 when the organisation was founded
(then as "Rotax") the staff numbered three and
the premises were very small indeed. In 1949 there
was no factory setup in Toronto and the function of
the service organisation in Montreal was to provide a
technical serviceand spare parts depot for Rotax
electrical equipment and affiliated Products. Jack Hulbert,
now Commercial Manager of Lucas-Rotax in Canada
(with his office inToronto) was then in charge of the
Montreal depot
In April 1949, Reg Grant came out from Rotax to be
the first Canadian Service Representative. In 1953
the present building was occupied and the work force
increased to 130 people
