The name 'C.A.V.' is derived from the initials of the founder,
the late Charles Anthony Vandervell, a pioneer who began
making electric storage batteries and apparatus in West
London in 1892.
The firm of C.A.Vandervell & Co. moved to Acton in 1904

Today the name is simply C.A.V. Limited
The products of the company include: diesel injection equipment,
turbochargers for high- speed diesels,and a variety of electrical
equipment, and today C.A.V is the largest manufacturer of fuel
injection equipment in the world.
